HighGHSA-2pmx-6mm6-6v72CVE-2014-8350
Smarty arbitrary PHP code execution
Published 17 May 2022 · Updated 6 Dec 2024
Affected package
smarty/smartyComposer
- Affected
- <3.1.21
- Fixed in
- 3.1.21
Update to the fixed version for your release line, for example:
composer require smarty/smarty:^3.1.21Details
Smarty before 3.1.21 allows remote attackers to bypass the secure mode restrictions and execute arbitrary PHP code as demonstrated by "{literal}<{/literal}script language=php>" in a template.
Is GHSA-2pmx-6mm6-6v72 in any of your client repos?
Checking one package by hand is fine. Checking it across forty client projects is not. NPMscan reads the lockfiles in every GitHub repo you pick, finds each project with an affected smarty/smarty, and gives you the command that fixes it.
