MediumGHSA-63q7-h895-m982CVE-2020-26870
Cross-site Scripting in dompurify
Published 18 Dec 2020 · Updated 8 Nov 2023
Affected package
dompurifynpm
- Affected
- <2.0.17
- Fixed in
- 2.0.17
Update to the fixed version for your release line, for example:
npm install dompurify@2.0.17Details
Cure53 DOMPurify before 2.0.17 allows mutation XSS. This occurs because a serialize-parse roundtrip does not necessarily return the original DOM tree, and a namespace can change from HTML to MathML, as demonstrated by nesting of FORM elements.
Is GHSA-63q7-h895-m982 in any of your client repos?
Checking one package by hand is fine. Checking it across forty client projects is not. NPMscan reads the lockfiles in every GitHub repo you pick, finds each project with an affected dompurify, and gives you the command that fixes it.
