Pimcore Discloses Usernames In Use
Published 24 May 2022 · Updated 16 Feb 2024
Affected package
pimcore/pimcoreComposer
- Affected
- <6.2.2
- Fixed in
- 6.2.2
Update to the fixed version for your release line, for example:
composer require pimcore/pimcore:^6.2.2Details
Pimcore before 6.2.2 allow attackers to brute-force (guess) valid usernames by using the 'forgot password' functionality as it returns distinct messages for invalid password and non-existing users.
Is GHSA-8889-9g3f-73rj in any of your client repos?
Checking one package by hand is fine. Checking it across forty client projects is not. NPMscan reads the lockfiles in every GitHub repo you pick, finds each project with an affected pimcore/pimcore, and gives you the command that fixes it.
