HighGHSA-g2vx-8v47-4vhhCVE-2010-4335
CakePHP allows remote attackers to modify internal Cake cache and execute arbitrary code
Published 17 May 2022 · Updated 8 Nov 2023
Affected package
cakephp/cakephpComposer
- Affected
- >=1.2.8 <1.3.6
- Fixed in
- 1.3.6
Update to the fixed version for your release line, for example:
composer require cakephp/cakephp:^1.3.6Details
The _validatePost function in libs/controller/components/security.php in CakePHP 1.3.x through 1.3.5 and 1.2.8 allows remote attackers to modify the internal Cake cache and execute arbitrary code via a crafted data[_Token][fields] value that is processed by the unserialize function, as demonstrated by modifying the file_map cache to execute arbitrary local files.
Is GHSA-g2vx-8v47-4vhh in any of your client repos?
Checking one package by hand is fine. Checking it across forty client projects is not. NPMscan reads the lockfiles in every GitHub repo you pick, finds each project with an affected cakephp/cakephp, and gives you the command that fixes it.
