Published 23 Nov 2021 · Updated 8 Nov 2023
Affected package
concrete5/coreComposer
- Affected
- <8.5.7
- Fixed in
- 8.5.7
Update to the fixed version for your release line, for example:
composer require concrete5/core:^8.5.7Details
Privilege escalation from Editor to Admin using Groups in Concrete CMS versions 8.5.6 and below. If a group is granted "view" permissions on the bulkupdate page, then users in that group can escalate to being an administrator with a specially crafted curl. Fixed by adding a check for group permissions before allowing a group to be moved.
Is GHSA-j4mv-2rv7-v2j9 in any of your client repos?
Checking one package by hand is fine. Checking it across forty client projects is not. NPMscan reads the lockfiles in every GitHub repo you pick, finds each project with an affected concrete5/core, and gives you the command that fixes it.
