Angular vulnerable to Cross-site Scripting

Published 18 Jun 2020 · Updated 10 Sept 2026

Affected package

Affected
<1.8.0
Fixed in
1.8.0
Update to the fixed version for your release line, for example:npm install angular@1.8.0

Details

angular.js prior to 1.8.0 allows cross site scripting. The regex-based input HTML replacement may turn sanitized code into unsanitized one. Wrapping <option> elements in <select> ones changes parsing behavior, leading to possibly unsanitizing code.

Is GHSA-mhp6-pxh8-r675 in any of your client repos?

Checking one package by hand is fine. Checking it across forty client projects is not. NPMscan reads the lockfiles in every GitHub repo you pick, finds each project with an affected angular, and gives you the command that fixes it.
