MediumGHSA-phwv-c562-gvmhCVE-2026-27901
Svelte vulnerable to XSS during SSR with contenteditable `bind:innerText` and `bind:textContent`
Published 26 Feb 2026 · Updated 10 Sept 2026
Affected package
sveltenpm
- Affected
- <5.53.5
- Fixed in
- 5.53.5
Update to the fixed version for your release line, for example:
npm install svelte@5.53.5Details
The contents of bind:innerText and bind:textContent on contenteditable elements were not properly escaped. This could enable HTML injection and Cross-site Scripting (XSS) if rendering untrusted data as the binding's initial value on the server.
Is GHSA-phwv-c562-gvmh in any of your client repos?
Checking one package by hand is fine. Checking it across forty client projects is not. NPMscan reads the lockfiles in every GitHub repo you pick, finds each project with an affected svelte, and gives you the command that fixes it.
