HighGHSA-vh7m-p724-62c2CVE-2020-13822
Signature Malleabillity in elliptic
Published 29 Jul 2020 · Updated 16 Oct 2024
Affected package
ellipticnpm
- Affected
- <6.5.3
- Fixed in
- 6.5.3
Update to the fixed version for your release line, for example:
npm install elliptic@6.5.3Details
The Elliptic package before version 6.5.3 for Node.js allows ECDSA signature malleability via variations in encoding, leading '\0' bytes, or integer overflows. This could conceivably have a security-relevant impact if an application relied on a single canonical signature.
Is GHSA-vh7m-p724-62c2 in any of your client repos?
Checking one package by hand is fine. Checking it across forty client projects is not. NPMscan reads the lockfiles in every GitHub repo you pick, finds each project with an affected elliptic, and gives you the command that fixes it.
