Published 13 Oct 2021 · Updated 8 Nov 2023
Affected package
ckeditor4npm
- Affected
- <4.16.0
- Fixed in
- 4.16.0
Update to the fixed version for your release line, for example:
npm install ckeditor4@4.16.0Details
It was possible to execute a ReDoS-type attack inside CKEditor 4 before 4.16 by persuading a victim to paste crafted URL-like text into the editor, and then press Enter or Space (in the Autolink plugin).
Is GHSA-wpvm-wqr4-p7cw in any of your client repos?
Checking one package by hand is fine. Checking it across forty client projects is not. NPMscan reads the lockfiles in every GitHub repo you pick, finds each project with an affected ckeditor4, and gives you the command that fixes it.
