Any computer that has this package installed or running should be considered fully compromised. All secrets and keys stored on that computer should be rotated immediately from a different computer. The package should be removed, but as full control of the computer may have been given to an outside entity, there is no guarantee that removing the package will remove all malicious software resulting from installing it.

The npm package "axios" was compromised and a malicious dependency was added called "plain-crypto-js". The malicious code appears to install a remote access trojan.

Is MAL-2026-2307 in any of your client repos?

Checking one package by hand is fine. Checking it across forty client projects is not. NPMscan reads the lockfiles in every GitHub repo you pick, finds each project with an affected axios, and gives you the command that fixes it.
